Rome...here we come!

Michelle McDermott (Peter Mark) and Tina Lynch (Zeba) will represent Ireland on behalf of Intercoiffure Ireland at the 21st Intercoiffure World Congress as part of the Guillaume Foundation Stage Show in Rome, Italy in June. Thousands of hairdressers are expected by World President, Klaus Peter Ochs, Italy President Alberto Rossi as well as the industry partners L'Oreal and P&G Salon Professional/Wella. The auditorium Conciliazione will be the main location of the World Congress. Elite Stylists, Business Power, Beauty Spirit and Avant Garde Fashion will come alive. During four days in June, Rome will be Intercoiffure Mondial's Megacity. Here history will meet the future.

 

 

College competitions...

Southern Regional College, Newry Campus hosted their annual hairdressing competitions for all NVQ Level 3 Hairdressing Students as part of their Hairdressing Qualifications. A packed audience viewd and sampled the three different competitions in the categories: Commercial Day Style, Ladies Evening Style and Avant Garde. The judges on the day who had a very hard task of selecting the category winners were Stephen McCusker, Helen Reavy and Maria Campbell. The overall winner on the day was Ben Hughes. For another year, the level of creativity in the competition exceeded expectations.

 

Barbering Tutorials

Royal Chamber Barbers Malahide are now offering Training Seminars where individuals can up-skill on Modern Gents Cutting Techniques. Award winning Irish Barber Champion Alin Jaleru will be leading the Seminars and will give each individual personal attention during the course. This is a four week course (1 day per week): WEEK 1:- Long Hair Cutting. WEEK 2:- Medium Hair Length. WEEK 3:- Short Hair. WEEK 4:- Free Style Haircut Assessment. C.R.A.F.T. Educator Wins Award

Congratulations to Maria Goad, salon owner of TANGLES Hair & Beauty, Abbeyfeale,, Co. Limerick who was awarded the prestigious MATRIX C.R.A.F.T Educator of the Year, (UK and Ireland). Awarded at an awards ceremony in the L'Oreal Academy, Dublin, Maria is the 1st IRISH WINNER EVER of the award! As part of her daily job as a C.R.A.F.T. Educator for MATRIX, Maria regularly finds herself working alongside some of the biggest names in the industry including Erroll Douglas, Jamie Stevens, Hooker & Young to name but a few. Maria believes that in an ever-changing industry, Education is the way forward and delivers courses and in-salon education with passion and a determination that each delegate leaves feeling empowered with information and skill.

17 Chefs, 17 Mohicans

Guy Kremer, celebrity stylist and his team created Mohicans on the heads of 17 chefs in aid of Action Against Hunger, a charity committed to saving lives of malnourished children all over the world. Guy Kramer, has an international reputation due to his unmistakable style of hairdressing which is distinctive, elegant and chic...certainly different to the mohican styles he was producing on the day. The 17 chefs signed up to having their hair re-styled into Mohicans after their Christmas staff party. Fair play guys!
